There's a hole in this possible earthquake pattern
The Mogi doughnut hypothesis, developed by a Japanese seismologist, holds that earthquakes occur
in a circular pattern over decades, building up to one very large temblor in the doughnut hole.

Mag 7.0 Papua New Guinea, this hour ( 3 50 pacific)
Mag's 6.4 an hour ago, and a 5.4 this hour, near Adak Alaska, in the Aleutian chain.

  The effect of the CME?

Yes.  Sure seems so to me anyway.

Meizer,
I've been looking at what seems like nearly a ring of quakes for more than a year now.  The center sort of is where Oregon, Idaho & Nevada connect.  (Quakes go Calif/Nev through Utah, into a little of Colorado, Montana, Idaho to Washington & down a little into Oregon.  When I first read of the Mogi Doughnut, I though of this area.  When I first began to notice this circle of quakes I began wondering about what might of happened in the past (. . . or what may happen in the future?).  Any connection?

Your 2.8 quake of intereest in Washington along with the recent 4.8 in Colorado and the recent 3.6 in Nevada & recent 3.0 in Calif seem to outline this circle.

Yup.  Inbound solar energy is affecting the Earth in several ways, and quakes wll be included.

Of note:  Two new sunspots have rounded the sun to face Earth as of 8/4.
