Viacom building is located at 1515 Broadway, very near times square.

Viacom produces and distributes the controversial "South Park" tv cartoon series.

SouthPark recently had strong muslim backlash about the way the
Prophet Muhammed was depicted in the cartoon.

Device was very crude.  At the hour of this post, EOD is searching the entire area for secondary devices that could harm first responders.

Vehicle status that contained the bomb is "junked" from a local NYC junk yard.

Connecting the dots.......

Hmmm....that was quick.

Odd though....faulty devices aren't the usual for retribution.
Maybe a homegrown attempt?

NY already has their hands out for more federal funds. You know, to keep them safe from further terrorism. I'm betting that overall, this latest "bombing" was a net gain for their bottom line.

On the news, it was originally said that the license plate had been traced, and the registered owner of the plate said he sent it to the junk yard on a junked vehicle.  I don't think the vehicle with the bomb was a junked one.  I doubt that makes much difference, but it is a detail which has been confused.
