Wow, Mag 5.7, and look at all the smaller aftershocks scattered all over.  I have to start getting up earlier.

The Pac Rim activity is ramped and revved....and I agree with you M....they're due.  I don't understand what's holding the S Cal area together.  For that matter, I'm wondering the same about the San Juan DF plate and the Pac NW.

This area ( Cal coast ) differs from many of the other Rim bordering areas....in that it's a strike slip fault zone.

Perhaps this is the reason for the deferred shock of the Pac Plate movement.

Thanks M and shy for keeping us uptodate on EQ activity!

From Frank Condon @  http://www.syzygyjob.com//index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=35&topic=257972.new#new

"It now appears that the Pacific-North American Plate Boundary is having a slow earthquake. . . . .
now appears to be a slow seismic event still in progress.  The potential for remote MT triggering is incrementally higher with a simultaneous crustal disturbance in progress"

F. Condon has more posts which may be seen in his section on Syzygy  @  http://www.syzygyjob.com//index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=35&board=8.0

. . . .
Take Care.  I'm thinking of those of you out there.

Thanks for the post shy....

That will explain the cat behavior....and the "scattered" human behavior patterns.

Hmmm....odd.  This never crossed my mind. 017

Yep....looks like aftershocks are shaking the area today.

5.4 is pretty good sized for this area.  West coast and Alaska appear to be under the gun .....
