Between the potential for eq's and weather ....is the human factor.  Seems  each month brings a new round of shockers to the news.  Locally too.
We've got our hands full making it to the end of 2010.

Thanks for the update M....keep wary, all...it's a wild ride from here onward.

That was a big one, and right in the LTS Window.
Something else may shake today along the Pacific rim.

Frank Condon also points out this quake

The M3.7 earthquake epicentered 2 miles south of Long Beach, CA

Lts Advisory for Tuesday, 21 Dec.
  This is the biggest ever,
  A Full Moon
A Lunar Eclipse for 72 minutes
A Solar Solstice, to magnify the effect while the Sun is stationary
Eclipse happens when the Moon is at it's Zenith, over Todos Santos Island, off of the Pacific Coast of Mexico

Hasn't happened since 1638 or so AD, on the Gregorian Calendar.
Wonder what Frank Condon will say about this one.
I will have my telescope out in the front yard if it is clear on tues nite.
After that I will hide under the bed  for a day or two.
