DOUBLE POSTED--FROM SOLAR-LUNAR TIDAL STRESS ADVISORY THREAD

Full moon:  January 9, 2012

Frank Condon posted his detailed Solar-Lunar-Tidal Stress Advisory which goes through the 12th @  http://www.syzygyjob.com//index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=35&topic=260641.new#new

I've been noticing an interesting (& possibly potentinally alarming?) sequence of So. Calif quakes--many (but not all) around faults Palms Springs to the Newport Beach(/Huntington Beach) area.

Frank Condon lists some detailed notations for this general area too--"from the Gulf of California to the Mojave Desert Block"-- which he technially describe @

http://www.syzygyjob.com//index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=35&topic=260639.0   and
http://www.syzygyjob.com//index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=35&topic=260642.0

                                             (and I just have this gut feeling . . . .)
If you live out there you might want to share some of this information.

The antipode of Indonesia's 7.3 quake the other day is the Pacific Northwest-- Vancouver.

Oh, I don't like the sounds of that, but thanks for the tip.  I am ready. If something hits, I will ride it out on the boat.

Zeppe1 of Syzygy posts that (though a day off) Jack Cole seemed to predict the large quake posted above and that Earthquake Mary's symptoms seemed to fit too saying:

"Although a day off, Jack's forecast (below) could be considered a hit.
Also, Earthquake Mary's symptoms for the Pacific North West are right on!"

with more specifics of Cole's prediction @

Magnitude 5.7 earthquake strikes off Vancouver Island

(Reuters) - A magnitude 5.7 earthquake struck off Vancouver Island on Saturday, some 209 miles west of Victoria, the capital of the Canadian province of British Columbia, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

There was a report on the USGS website of the quake centered in the Pacific Ocean being felt in Vancouver, the largest city in British Columbia.

The quake struck at 12:05 p.m. local time, the USGS said.

There was no danger of a tsunami from the earthquake, and there have been no reports of damage, said seismologist Shengzao Chen of the USGS.

Yep, heard that one, like a car door slamming, right at lunchtime, later today I see a small drywall crack upstairs at the corner of a window is just a little bit larger.
Should be some aftershocks, let's just hope it is not a pre quake for the big PNW quake Clif has predicted.
Just yesterday i was flying home, a clear day, I was looking at Mt. Baker, and Rainier in the distance, thinking what a geologically unstable place this is, looking so peaceful under the snow.

I was attracted to the picture on this link, but some of the comments are also interesting.

Vancouver Island unfazed by earthquake southwest of Tofino

There was an earthquake off British Columbia's coast on Saturday, but it wasn't strong enough to be noticed by the mayor of one Vancouver Island community. . . .

Tofino Mayor Perry Schmunk says he was on the beach at the time and didn't feel a thing.

Mr. Schmunk says that's in direct contrast to a 6.4-magnitude earthquake in September, 2011. Just after that quake, Mr. Schmunk says, the ground turned and he felt like he was standing on a waterbed.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

P.S.  Just noticed there have been 11 magnitude 5.0+ quakes w/i last 24 hr.

Quake Rattles Parts of San Diego County

A magnitude 3.0 earthquake was felt in East County Saturday.

East County and the Coachella and Imperial valleys rumbled with a series of earthquakes centered at the southern end of the Salton Sea Saturday.

A magnitude 3.0 temblor started the latest sequence of shakes. It struck at 1:46 a.m., and its epicenter was on the Salton seashore 3 miles west- southwest of Niland, according to automated seismographs operated by the USGS and the Southern California Earthquake Center.

That location is 40 miles southeast of Indio, or 110 miles east- northeast of San Diego. The 3.0 temblor was followed by a series of smaller microquakes.

There were no reports of damage in the area, which sits at the southern end of the San Andreas Fault system and is rattled by quakes regularly.

Good post Shy, I am now listening to Clif High's interview with Suzanne Toro, he is predicting a big quake soon.
Quakes are getting stronger, and more frequent, keep posting.
